South African Group Three Winner for Rock of Gibraltar
Australian bred two year-old filly Arcetri Pink (2f Rock of Gibraltar x Arectri, by Galileo) scored a dominant debut win in the Group III Pretty Polly Stakes at Turffontein in South Africa onSaturday.
The Geoff Woodruff trained daughter of Rock of Gibraltar took the 1110 metre dash by two and a half lengths from a big field of 16 runners and is unbeaten in winning each of her two starts.
She was a $45,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Heritage Bloodstock from the draft of Millford Thoroughbreds and is the first foal of Arcetri, an unraced half-sister by Galileo (IRE) to Group II winning sprinter Camena and another smart sprinter in Jai’s Jump.
Arcetri Pink is the 80th stakes-winner worldwide for Rock of Gibraltar, who is now based permanently in Ireland after many years of shuttling to Australia.
