Tannery claims G1 honours for Dylan Thomas

Irish-bred Tannery (4f Dylan Thomas-Danse Grecque, by Sadler´s Wells) brought more top-level success for Dylan Thomas in Canada on Sunday when capturing the G1 E P Taylor Stakes at Woodbine. It was a well-deserved first G1 success for the Alan Goldberg-trained filly, who won the G2 Sheepshead Bay Stakes at Belmont in May and finished second in the G1 Flower Bowl Invitational before heading to Woodbine. Partnered by Joel Rosario, she dug deep to see off French raider Fitful Skies and claim the prestigious 10-furlong prize in the colours of Richard Santulli. “I just let her be happy,” Rosario told the Daily Racing Form. “I tried to save some ground. After that, I tried to make a little move early. She has a big kick, and we got the job done. That horse on the inside was fighting. It was a very exciting race. I’m so glad we won.”
