Trevanna (Requinto) winning an auction race at Naas

Valuable prize for unbeaten Requinto filly Trevanna

Trevanna (2f Requinto-Flamelet, by Theatrical) saw off 13 rivals to win the €100,000 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Auction Race at Naas on Sunday. The Kevin Prendergast-trained Requinto filly, winner of a Down Royal maiden on her debut last month, prevailed in the seven-furlong contest under Chris Hayes. “I knew when I came into the straight that she would pick them off and she did,” said Hayes. “I got to the front way too soon but she is tough and she is gutsy. The boss told me to ride her with patience. She just keeps surprising at home with how tough and hardy she is. She’s a nice filly to have.” Bred by Joli Racing, the filly is owned by Prendergast, his daughter Anne and son-in-law Trevor McCormack.
