Walk In The Park Sires Smart Four-Year-Old Double
Walk Tall (4g Walk In The Park - Blixt, by Yeats) kicked off a four-year-old double for Walk In The Park on Sunday when making a winning debut at Ballindenisk.
Hailing from the in-form Jonathan Fogarty stable, the €82,000 foal buy was one of nine to line up for the four-year-old maiden. He raced prominently throughout under Noel McParlan, asserting before the second last and kept on well to score by two and a half lengths. The front pair drew 18 lengths clear of the remainder.
The smart prospect was bred by Drumlin Bloodstock out of their homebred Yeats mare Blixt.
Later at Borris House, Donnchadh Doyle’s newcomer Heron In The Park (4m Walk In The Park – Night Heron, by St Jovite) made an impressive start in the four-year-old mares maiden under Rob James.
Sent off favourite, she raced towards the back of the nine-runner field and improved to track the leaders from five out. Disputing from the third last, she asserted soon after and went on to score by nine and a half lengths.
Bred by Pat Connell, Heron In The Park is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner and Grade 1 performer Glory And Fortune (Fame And Glory). Her full-brother fetched €80,000 as a foal last year.
