War Command newcomer wins at Ascot
Michael Bell sent out debutant Nuremberg (2c War Command-Mackenzie’s Friend, by Selkirk) to bring yet more first-crop success for War Command at Ascot on Saturday.
The juvenile came out best in what looked a useful seven-furlong novices’ event when winning by a length and three-quarters under Danny Tudhope.
“Nuremberg looks very smart and has a good future. He wants every bit of a mile already, but he's a lovely horse with a nice attitude,” said Tudhope.
The Racing Post added that: “Nuremberg, a £30,000 yearling, half-brother to six winners including two with three-figure RPRs, travelled nicely for much of this and responded every time he was asked. Well on top at the line, this was a useful debut.”
Nuremberg was bred by Dean Harron and partners.
