Well-Bred Pour Moi Filly Wins With Ease
Memyselfandmoi (3f Pour Moi - Sar Oiche, Teofilo) looked a class apart when running out an easy winner of the seven and a half furlong maiden at Tipperary on Sunday.
She was forced to relinquish her lead in the early stages, waiting until the four furlong marker to regain the advantage and began to draw clear turning for home. Travelling well while her rivals toiled behind her, she was pushed along to maintain her advantage and scored by three lengths with ease.
In-form winning trainer Willie McCreery commented after the race, “Memyselfandmoi is a very well-bred filly and this was an important win. She's a smashing filly and is much better going left-handed.”
Owned and bred by Deerpark Stud, Memyselfandmoi had been placed on her two previous starts and one would presume connections will now aim for black-type. She is the first foal out of the mare, a winning half-sister to Group 3 winner Danelissima (Danehill) and Listed performer Daneleta (Danehill), herself the dam of Dewhurst Stakes winner Intense Focus (Giant’s Causeway). Group 1 winners Sholokhov and Soldier Of Fortune feature further down the page.
Epsom Derby hero Pour Moi commands €5,000 at Grange Stud this season.
