For The Trees (Ivawood) winning a maiden at Sligo

Winners Keep Coming For Ivawood

First season sire Ivawood celebrated his second winner in as many days when For The Trees (2f Ivawood - Siesta Time, by Oasis Dream) justified favoritism in the fillies’ maiden at Sligo on Wednesday.

Second last time out at Leopardstown, the Jessica Harrington-trained filly showed the benefit of experience when breaking smartly to make all under Shane Foley. Going well entering the straight, she was pushed out to win by a length and three quarters.

Commenting after the race, the winning jockey said, “She's a nice filly and this was an ideal race for her. She has plenty of pace but I don't think she would have any trouble getting seven.”

Bred by Stephanie Hanly, For The Trees is owned by her trainer in partnership with Ms S Prichard-Jones and RB Jones. She becomes the first winner out of her dam, a winning half-sister to Group 3 scorer Karar, runner-up in the Group 1 Prix de la Foret.
