Juvenile Sirici wins black-type for Choisir

Speedy two-year-old Sirici (2f Choisir-Mironica, by Excellent Art) landed her third success of the year at Tipperary on Thursday evening when winning the Listed Coolmore Pride Of Dubai Tipperary Stakes.

The Fozzy Stack-trained Choisir filly held off the challenge of Actress (2f Declaration Of War-Nasty Storm, by Gulch) to secure the five-furlong contest. In third place was the Joseph O’Brien-trained Now You’re Talking (2f Zoffany-Granadilla, by Zafonic) to complete a 1-2-3 for Coolmore sires.

Sirici bounced back from a below-par run in the G2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot and Stack commented: “At Ascot we didn’t make enough use of her, because she has a very high cruising speed and keeps going. We went back to basics and left her jump and run and it is grand it has worked out for her.

“She is after winning two races and a Listed race so doesn’t have to do much more. I was hoping she’d be placed and she is also the first foal out of the mare so has done her no harm!”
