Extravaganzoo (2f Golden Pal x Prisoner’s Dilemma, by Blame) went from stakes placed to a stakes winner on Friday when she won the Joseph A. Gimma S. by 2 ¾ lengths. Going off as a heavy favorite in the 6 ½ furlong turf race, she gave herself an extra challenge when racing in last, though just a few lengths off the leader. She was happy to keep the rail position she’d broken from until the stretch when Manny Franco angled her four wide. With a furlong left to run, the Golden Pal daughter had the lead and drew away from there. By the time she crossed the wire, she was 2 ¾ lengths the best with just two horses finishing within eight lengths of her. Obviously, she wasn’t ready yet, but then she really started improving. It looks like she’s improved again.” Extravaganzoo is one of two winners out of Prisoner’s Dilemma. That mare is a half-sister to the stakes winning duo of Brigand and Sky Music. Her sisters are also the dams of multiple stakes winner Hush of a Storm and stakes winner Founder. In all, Extravaganzoo is one of 10 stakes winners under her first three dams. This is the second stakes winner for Golden Pal, whose 25 winners overall leads all North American stallions by juvenile winners this year with his six stakes performers leading all freshmen and his three stakes winners second among all freshmen and tied with horses such as Justify and Uncle Mo in second among all North American sires.
