So You Think ex Pinocchio yearling colt

$1.1million So You Think Colt Equal Inglis Easter Sale-Topper Day 1

Fresh from siring Group I ATC Australian Derby winner Quick Thinker last Saturday, former champion racehorse and now leading sire So You Think broke new ground at Inglis Easter online on Tuesday when producing his first seven figure yearling.

A stunning grey half-brother to Group II winner Classique Legend and Hong Kong based Group II winner Aethero, the colt from Pinocchio was consigned by Tyreel Stud and purchased by Hong Kong based Legend Racing for $1.1million.

Legend Racing is Hong Kong based owner Bon Ho, whose many past successes included this colt’s half-brother Classique Legend, who has won over $1.4million in prizemoney.

A full sister to Champion Miler Racing to Win, Pinocchio has done a great job for Tyreel Stud with three foals to race all winners with this colt delivering her biggest pay day in the sale ring.

“For Tyreel Stud, the staff that puts so much time and effort into these horses, this is the grand final. This means everything to us and this Pinocchio colt was just sensational from the outset,’’ Tyreel’s Linda Monds said.

“We’re just over the moon with the result. It’s so good for the farm and the family.

“From a vendor’s perspective, the virtual sale was always going to be daunting, it’s never been done before but full credit goes to Inglis for pulling this off."

The star colt is also the most expensive yearling ever sired by So You Think, who is enjoying a great season with eight Australian stakes-winners and was super popular at Coolmore last spring covering 234 mares last year at a fee of $38,500.
