He is firing on all cylinders and with a winning double on Thursday courtesy of three year-old maiden winners Net Worth (3g Fastnet Rock x A Real Dool, by Proper Reality) and Our Smokin’ Rock (3g Fastnet Rock x Good to Be True, by Brief Truce), Fastnet Rock has hit his ton for the season and achieved it for the first time. Last year, when his oldest progeny were just four year-olds, Fastnet Rock finished the season with 95 winners of $5.6 million including four stakes-winners and has eclipsed those figures by a big margin this year with four months of the Southern Hemisphere racing season to run. The Group I winning son of Danehill leads the Australian General Sires List by earnings ($8.9 million and stakes-winners (13), so is quite clearly in the middle of an extremely purple patch.
