$1million Filly for Fastnet Rock
Champion sire Fastnet Rock always makes his presence felt at Inglis Easter and achieved his best result with a powerful bay filly from Sword of Light that sold for $1million.
Consigned by Widden Stud, she is the second foal of Group II winning New Approach mare Sword of Light and was bought by Aramco Racing / Rick Connolly Bloodstock / MG Price Racing & Breeding.
She is bred on the hugely successful nick between Fastnet Rock and Galileo, who combine in the pedigrees of 11 Group I winners.
Widden Stud purchased Sword of Light in foal to Fastnet Rock for $900,000 at the 2020 Inglis Chairman’s Sale, so got an immediate return on their investment.
Also going close to the million dollar mark was Coolmore Stud’s filly from Group III winning Zabeel mare Rezoned. A full sister to Group I placed filly Southbank, she was bought by Kia Ora Stud for $950,000.
Rezoned has a filly to follow by Justify and was covered last spring by Wootton Bassett.
Fastnet Rock had 14 yearlings sell in total at an average $497,500.
