$370,000 Pierro colt at Inglis Ready 2 Race
A record breaking Inglis Ready 2 Race Sale for two year-olds in Sydney on Tuesday produced a great result for Pierro with his colt from Ajeeta selling for $370,000 to be the equal second highest priced horse of the sale.
Consigned by Cheltenham Stables, the colt breezed in 10.83 second and was bought by NSW trainer Amanda Turner.
The colt was a successful pinhook having been bought from the Newgate draft at Inglis Classic for $150,000.
“I actually went to look at another one from the draft and then they said I should have a look at the Pierro and as soon as I did I said ‘you shouldn’t have shown me him, I had him marked and now I think I’m going to have to buy him’. There’s plenty of upside with him, you can really see it,” Turner said.
The colt is the first foal of winning I Am Invincible mare Ajeeta, a half-sister to Group III placed Axe from the family of Group I winning champion sires Encosta de Lago and Flying Spur, as well as Group I winning mares I Am A Star and Pear Tart.
