$440,000 Pierro Colt at Karaka

A strong first day of trade in New Zealand for the Karaka Book 1 Yearling Sale produced a great result for Curraghmore when their colt by champion sire Pierro sold for $440,000.

The third foal of Group I winning High chaparral mare Charmont, he was bought by Mulcaster Bloodstock/ Chris Waller Racing so will be heading to Australia to be prepared by the champion trainer.

He comes with an impressive pedigree as his dam Charmont is from stakes-winning Danehill mare Martique, who is in turn out of multiple Group I winning Zabeel mare Champagne.

Charmont has a colt to follow by Justify and was one of 188 mares covered last spring by Wootton Bassett.
