$550,000 for Fastnet Colt
The third and final session of the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale again produced strong results for Fastnet Rock, whose stunning colt from Sidereus Nuncius fetched $550,000.
Consigned by first time Easter vendors Bell View Park Stud, the colt (pictured)was secured for Coolmore by James Bester Bloodstock/Demi O’Byrne Bloodstock and is the first foal of Sidereus Nuncius, a winning daughter of dual Group I winner Foxwood from the family of Melbourne Cup winner Gurners Lane and Victoria Derby winner Sovereign Red.
Fastnet Rock has enjoyed a sensational sale with 38 yearlings averaging $305,526 highlighted by his $1million colt from Catreign that topped the first session for Newgate Farm when purchased by James Bester Bloodstock/Demi O’Byrne Bloodstock.
Fastnet Rock has proven a goldmine for his supporters this year, returning some five times his 2009 service fee of $60,500 at this sale.
