60th Stakes-Winner for Fusaichi Pegasus
Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus shuttled to Australia for the final time in 2007, the son of Mr Prospector passing a milestone on Saturday when posting his 60th stakes-winner after Hour of Peril (4g Fusaichi Pegasus x Revamp, by Zoffany) landed the Listed Tattersalls Mile at Eagle Farm.
A Patinack Farm runner prepared by John Thompson, Hour of Peril was easy in the market, but produced a strong finishing burst from back in the field to score a dominant two length win in the 1600 metre feature.
Second in the Group III BRC Rough Habit Plate as a three year-old, Hour of Peril has always shown glimmers of stakes class ability so it was good to see him realize that potential with a Black Type success.
A $47,500 purchase for Patinack Farm from the Manx Park draft at the 2009 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Hour of Peril has the overall record of five wins and four placings from 24 starts with prizemoney of $212,150.
Hour of Peril is a half-brother to stakes-placed Senorita de Lago being one of three winners from Revamp, a half-sister by Zoffany (USA) to brilliant Victorian stakes-winning sprinters Mighty Supremo and Avatar from the family of champion sprinter and sire Vain.
