Promising young sire Merchant Navy set a new benchmark for himself in the sale ring at Magic Millions on Wednesday when his second crop daughter from Group III winner Pittsburgh Flyer sold for $700,000.
The half-sister to Group I VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes winner September Run was consigned by Coolmore and is the third foal from a brilliantly fast daughter of Street Boss (USA), who was also fourth in the Group I MRC Oakleigh Plate.
Bred by Go Bloodstock, she was bought by Ciaron Maher Bloodstock/Best Bloodstock.
Top selling colt for Merchant Navy on Wednesday was offered by Strawberry Hill Stud and fetched $380,000 to the bid of Tasman Bloodstock.
The flashy chestnut colt from Lady Laskhmi is a half-brother to Hong Kong Group III winner Healthy Happy and progressive three year-old Publicist, who won his maiden at Warwick Farm today.
