8-time Group 1 winner So You Think to be aimed at the ‘Arc’
Coolmore today announced that their New Zealand-bred and Australian-raced superstar So You Think will now be aimed at Europe’s premier middle-distance contest, the Group 1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, at Longchamp on October 2nd. “So You Think is in great form and all being well with him, the plan is to run in the ‘Arc’ given reasonable ground conditions,” said trainer Aidan O’Brien.
Since moving to Ballydoyle, So You Think has recorded high-profile successes including the Group 1 Eclipse Stakes (defeating last season’s Epsom Derby and ‘Arc’ winner Workforce) and the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes (defeating Europe’s leading middle-distance filly Snow Fairy). The handsome son of High Chaparral is the runaway leader in the older horses division of the latest Cartier Award standings and has closed to within four points of Frankel in the race to be the 21st Cartier Horse of the Year.
