Air Force Blue Yearlings Fly into Gold Coast

The champion European 2YO Colt of 2015, Air Force Blue shuttled to Coolmore Australia for just one season with his first Southern Hemisphere bred yearlings to be offered at Australasian sales in 2020 starting with the Magic Millions Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast in January.

By champion Danzig sire War Front, Air Force Blue was an exceptional juvenile winning the Group I Newmarket Dewhurst Stakes, Curragh Phoenix Stakes and National Stakes, ending 2015 as the highest-rated 2-year-old ever trained by Aidan O'Brien.

Air Force Blue achieved sensational sale ring results in North America with his first yearlings selling this year for $400,000, $350,000, $305,000, $290,000, $280,000 and $275,000 (all figures in US dollars).

“With the exception of Frankel who has made such a brilliant start to his stud career, Air Force Blue is Timeform’s highest-rated juvenile in nearly 20 years. In fact, he’s the highest-rated juvenile ever from the Danzig line,” said Ashford Stud manager Dermot Ryan.

That remark will resonate with Australian yearling buyers at a sale such as Magic Millions where the quest for superior juveniles is paramount.

Air Force Blue has seven yearlings catalogued for Magic Millions for a variety of vendors.

Highlights include: Lot 88, the first foal of Andresa, a full sister to multiple Group I winning Fastnet Rock mare Mosheen; Lot 93, a half-sister to stakes-winner Canali from good producer Angora; and Lot 327, a filly from Group III winner Gabbidon.
