Another G2 for Fastnet colt One Foot In Heaven
The tough One Foot In Heaven (4c Fastnet Rock-Pride, by Peintre Celebre) recorded his third Group race victory of the year on Sunday when winning the G2 Prix du Conseil de Paris in Chantilly.
The Fastnet Rock colt, who finished a good sixth to Found in the G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe on his previous start, came late to take the 12-furlong prize under Thierry Jarnet.
One Foot In Heaven, who is trained by Alain de Royer Dupre for Fair Salinia Ltd, won the G2 Grand Prix de Chantilly over the same course and distance in June.
“He had proven his quality in the past, so this is not a surprise particularly as he ran such a good race in the Arc,” said de Royer Dupre. “We had a scare with him three days ago, as he had the same problem he had when running a bad race in the Prix Foy, but luckily the physio did a good job with him and he was able to run his race. We will now aim him at the G1 Hong Kong Vase at Sha Tin.”
