Arcadia Prince a New Stakes-Winner for Pierro
Bob and Sandra Peter’s celebrated broodmare Arcadia delivered a new stakes-winner at Ascot in Perth on Saturday when outstanding filly Arcadia Queen’s older full brother Arcadia Prince (4g Pierro x Arcadia, by Redoute's Choice) took out the Group III WATC AJ Scahill Stakes.
A four year-old gelding by Pierro, Arcadia Prince was transferred to Adam Durrant from Grant and Alana Williams earlier this year and has been in rare form for his new stable.
With three wins and a second from four starts since resuming from a spell, Arcadia Prince has been working through the grades and was a short priced favourite for this 1400 metre WFA contest.
He surged home from back in the field to score a long neck win taking his overall record to seven wins from 13 starts with prizemoney in excess of $460,000.
Arcadia Prince is a full brother to Group I WATC Kingston Town Classic winner Arcadia Queen and half-brother to Group II winner Arcadia Dream and stakes-winner Arcadia Rose being one of six winners from super producing Redoute’s Choice mare Arcadia.
Arcadia Prince is the 13th stakes-winners from the first two crops of Pierro, who has 32 yearlings catalogued for the Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale in January.
