Bright Future Ahead Of Wootton Bassett Colt

Rock Of Cashel (2c Wootton Bassett – Best In The World, by Galileo) was not for catching as he made all to win the seven furlong maiden on the first day of the Galway Festival.

Partnered by Wayne Lordan on his second start, the Aidan O’Brien-trained colt was ridden clear approaching furlong and kept on well to score by two and a quarter lengths.

A step up in class is on the cards for the Coolmore homebred, according to Ballydoyle representative Chris Armstrong, who said, “He's still quite babyish but he's going to be a lovely horse in time, he's still putting it all together. We might look at something like the Futurity for him, some of those nice races.”

The son of Wootton Bassett is a half-brother to three-time Group 1 heroine Snowfall (Deep Impact).
