Passive Aggressive (Fastnet Rock) winning at Werribee

Brilliant Debut for Exciting Fastnet Rock Filly

Blue-blood filly Passive Aggressive (3f Fastnet Rock x Miss Judgement, by Strategic) was a dazzling debut winner on Monday at Werribee for Jonathan Munz’s Pinecliff Racing.

Trained by Grahame Begg, Passive Aggressive has been given plenty of time and showed her true potential at Werribee on Monday when bolting to a commanding six length win on debut.

Sent out a hot favourite, the filly led all the way for Jordan Childs winning the 1100m maiden in a breeze.

“She’s come to the races and a is a winner now so we’ve ticked that box,” said Grahame Begg.

“We’ll just take her through her grades, there are plenty of races and we’ll find one for her in a couple of weeks time.

“She had a few little immaturity issues, but we’ve given her the time she needed and that was the key. This time in she’s been lovely and sound with no issues whatsoever.”

Bought by Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock at Inglis Easter for $500,000, Passive Aggressive was bred and sold by Cressfield and is a full sister to Group III winning and multiple Group I placed sprinter Missrock, who won over $1.3million.

Passive Aggressive is the final foal from Group III winning Strategic mare Miss Judgement, who was retired from stud duties last year and is a sibling to Group I winner Mrs Onassis and Group III winners Fifth Avenue Lady and Aussies Love Sport.

The value of this prolific Black Type female family was highlighted when Missrock was offered off the track at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale in 2019 where she fetched $2.3million to the bid of John and Jake Warren and was exported to the UK.

Missrock made $500,000 as a yearling in 2015, the same price paid for Passive Aggressive, so connections will no doubt be hoping her career can unfold with similar success now she has broken the ice.
