Churchill Proves Popular at Premier
With two recent impressive Sydney metropolitan winners in Conqueror (2c Churchill x Dixie Chick, by Star Witness) and Robusto (2c Churchill x She’s Clean, by Redoute’s Choice) to his credit, exciting young sire Churchill proved popular at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale with all four of his yearlings selling at an average $215,000.
Top seller for Churchill was the Caithness Breeding bred and consigned colt from well related Hussonet mare Before the Present that sold for $250,000 to Annabel Neasham Racing/ Brian McGuire.
His dam is a half-sister to Group II ATC Silver Slipper winner and sire Domesday from the famed Best in Show female family via blue hen Monroe.
HK based Magus Equine bought a Churchill colt from Totally Mystic (GB) for $230,000 from Blue Gum Farm as agent for Dorrington Farm, while Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing / Kestrel Thoroughbreds paid $210,000 for another Blue Gum consigned youngster for Dorrington Farm, a lovely filly from French stakes-winner Gabella (Fr).
Churchill has only one entry for Inglis Easter but it’s Lot 180 to be offered by Coolmore and he is the half-brother to Group I winning sprinter Bella Vella from good producer Forget the Weather (USA).
