Fastnet Dominates Premier
Fastnet Rock has dominated at every turn during all three session of the 2012 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale finishing as the leading sire by average with 20 youngsters selling at average $181,375,more than double the sale average of $73,278.
Highlights on the final day for Fastnet Rock came in the shape of a gorgeous filly from Crystal Choir (GB) that made $330,000 for Makybe to be the top selling filly of the sale and a powerful colt from Elusive Wonder that made $340,000 for Mill Park.
Kevin Maloney’s Segenhoe Thoroughbreds secured the filly, who is a half-sister to stakes-winner Corsaire, while Hong Kong trainer Ricky Yiu took home the colt from stakes-placed Elusive Wonder, who comes from the family of stakes-winners Tantra, Liberty Rose and Kanzan.
Fastnet Rock sired five of the top six lots, his colt from Bellevue Lady (NZ) topping the sale when secured by James Bester Bloodstock/Demi O'Byrne for $500,000 on Tuesday.
