Fastnet Filly Tops MM National Mares

Outstanding Group I winning filly Nechita was the top priced offering at the 2013 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale when fetching $1.55 million to the bid of Tom Magnier. A daughter of champion sire Fastnet Rock, Nechita was consigned for sale by Patinack Farm, who purchased her as a yearling through this very same sales ring in 2011 for just $130,000. Nechita had just four starts winning three of them in brilliant style culminating with a brilliant victory in the Group I VRC Coolmore Stud stakes beating Jolie Bay and subsequent Group I VRC Newmarket Handicap winner Shamexpress. “She will be retired to stud and she will visit Pierro if she stays in Australia, or if she heads to Europe she will be served by Galileo,” said Tom Magnier "We will make a decision when the dust settles and go from there. "She's a lovely filly, by a champion stallion and we're delighted have her joining a quality Coolmore Stud band of broodmares.”
