Fastnet Rock Filly Makes Winning Debut At Leopardstown
The Ger Lyons-trained One Last Look (2f Fastnet Rock - Celestial Bow, by Raven’s Pass) made a winning start to her racecourse career when scoring over seven furlongs at Leopardstown on Thursday.
Settled towards the back of the field as Galactic Grey set a strong pace out in front, she took closer order on the turn for home and stayed on to join the leaders entering the final furlong. Running on well under Colin Keane, she scored by a length and a quarter, with the first four horses finishing clear of the rest of the field.
Speaking after the race, assistant trainer Shane Lyons said, “We're delighted with that. She's a lovely filly and she was very well bought by Gaelic Bloodstock. We always liked her, Colin always liked her at home, but she will improve a lot from it.”
Owned by Gaelic Thoroughbreds, One Last Look was bred by Grange Stud and is a half-sister to fellow two-year-old winner House Of Kings (Camelot). Their unraced dam is closely related to French Guineas heroine Elusive Wave, herself also the dam of two Stakes horses.
