Fastnet Rock Leads Magic Millions Sire Averages
Champion sire Fastnet Rock ended the elite first four sessions of Book One at the 2015 Magic Millions Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast as the leading sire by average with 17 youngsters averaging $380,147.
His top seller was a spectacular filly (pictured) from dual Group I winner Response that fetched $1,050,000 for Newgate Farm when bought by China Horse Club on Friday to be the highest priced filly of the sale.
His best colt at $600,000 was from young stakes-winner Delta Girl and was offered by Coolmore and bought by Chris Waller Racing, while another colt from South African Group III winner Sweet Sanette made $525,000 and a filly from Group III winner Miss Judgement fetched $500,000.
Fastnet Rock is currently leading the Australian General Sires List with progeny earnings topping $5.2 million and 11 stakes-winners to his credit which is three more than any other sire.
