First Merchant Navy and Churchill Weanlings on Show

The 2020 Inglis Australian Weanling Sale next week (July 8 and 9) at Riverside Stables will mark the first sale ring appearance in Australia of the progeny of Royal Ascot hero Merchant Navy, the champion sprinting son of Fastnet Rock and Galileo’s champion son Churchill.

A Group I winner in both hemispheres, Merchant Navy is the fastest son of Fastnet Rock to go to stud and has been super popular with breeders covering 402 mares in his first two seasons.

From a superb Australian Black Type female family, Merchant Navy’s first three dam sires are Snippets, Last Tycoon (IRE) and Twig Moss (Fr) bringing in top class diverse bloodlines that have produced elite success on the track in Australia for generations.

A Champion 2YO and Champion Miler at three, four-time Group I winner Churchill is the fastest son of Galileo to come to Australia.

He has a power packed female speed pedigree that is free of Danehill blood and makes plenty of appeal to follow in the footsteps of other star Galileo sire sons including Frankel and Teofilo, whose progeny have both made their mark in Australia.
