First Weanlings Impress by Magna Grecia and Yes Yes Yes
The Inglis Australian Weanling Sale this week showcased the first progeny of promising young sires Magna Grecia and Yes Yes Yes, who both posted encouraging results.
Magna Grecia had the best result of all first season sires at this sale during the second session on Thursday with a colt from unraced Zabeel mare Slippers (pictured) fetching $150,000 for Coolmore when secured by great judge Suman Hedge.
Sledmere Stud also had a good sale with their filly from stakes-placed Not a single Doubt mare Maqsad that made $80,000 when bought by Supreme Thoroughbreds.
A dual Group I winning half-brother by Invincible Spirit to 2021 Horse of the Year St Mark’s Basilica, Magna Grecia is headed back to Australia this spring at a fee of $19,250, while his famous younger sibling is also on the roster at $44,000.
Everest hero Yes Yes Yes got his best result with Fairhill Farm’s colt from Blue Blazers that made $110,000 when secured by Ferguson Bloodstock / Bevan Smith Bloodstock / Andrew Williams Bloodstock. He is the first foal of an unraced sister to Champion Singapore 2YO and sire Super One.
Yes Yes Yes had another weanling sell for seven figures with the Fairhill Farm consigned colt from Shudabeen selling for $100,000 to Trilogy Racing.
Yes Yes Yes is priced at $38,500 this spring.
