Future Bright for Fastnet filly
Fastnet Rock has been enjoying a hot run with his Australian three year-olds adding another smart winner to the tally on Friday evening at Cranbourne where David Hayes and Tom Dabernig produced For Lulu (3f Fastnet Rock x Cats Whisker, by Fusaichi Pegasus ) to win as she pleased.
For Lulu was having her first run back from a very long spell and showed the benefit of maturity when travelling strongly for Michael Walker just off the pace before accelerating smartly to win the 1200 metre maiden by two and three-quarter lengths as a hot favourite.
Foaled and raised at Coolmore for her breeder Joy Jenkins and pictured here as a yearling, For Lulu was retained to race by Mrs Jenkins and partners.
A full sister to metro winner This Cat Rocks, she is the second foal and second winner for Cats Whisker.
Mrs Jenkins also bred and raced Cats Whisker (pictured), who won six races and nearly $600,000 in prizemoney with highlight wins in the Group II VRC Let’s Elope Stakes and Rose of Kingston Stakes.
A daughter of Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus, Cats Whisker has been to Fastnet Rock in each stud season to date since she retired and has a yearling colt by the champion sire heading to Magic Millions in 2015 to be offered by Coolmore as Lot 141.
She has also foaled again this spring producing another filly by Fastnet Rock.
