G1 Australian Cup Contender for So You Think
She might be a half-sister to champion sprinter Hay List, but So You Think mare Miss Siska (6m So You Think x Sing Hallelujah, by Is It True) likes her races a little longer and is now aiming up at the Group I VRC Australian Cup in two weeks time after taking out the Group II MRC Peter Young Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield on Saturday.
Miss Siska has had several trainers in her career to date, but is now with Grahame Begg, who has the six year-old in career best form.
A last start winner of the Group III MRC Carlyon Cup, Miss Siska raced on the pace for Damian Lane and was tenacious to the line in winning by a head.
“She’s always been a top class mare and has not really had a lot of racing, so is really only coming to the fore now,” said Grahame Begg.
“She’s a pleasure to train and makes my job easy.”
A homebred for the Davenport family, who also bred and raced $2.5 million earner Hay List, Miss Siska is the second stakes-winner among six winners from now retired producer Sing Hallelujeh.
She has the overall record of eight wins and seven placings from 26 starts with prizemoney topping $700,000 and is one the 24 stakes-winners for So You Think, who has 16 entries for the upcoming Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Melbourne and you can see them here.
