Angeal ( Wootton Bassett) Wins The Group 3 Prix Six Perfections

G1 Goal for Unbeaten Wootton Bassett Filly

With his first SH bred two year-olds set to take off in Australia this season, Wootton Bassett added a new stakes-winner to his tally in France on Sunday when unbeaten filly Angeal (2f Wootton Bassett x Curvy, by Galileo) upped the ante to win the Group III Prix Six Perfections (1400m) at Deauville.

Trained by Christopher Head, Angeal won her first two starts at Saint Cloud in May and June before lining up in a Black Type event. She rose to the challenge producing a tenacious effort for Aurelien Lemaitre to keep her record at a perfect three for three winning by a neck.

“I'm delighted she remains undefeated with a great performance,” Christopher Head said.

“She has a lovely temperament and she never gives up when she has to fight. With her lovely pedigree, to win a group race was most important and it is mission accomplished. We'll now take our time to prepare her for the one-mile Prix d'Aumale (G3) and then the Marcel Boussac (G1).”

Angeal was a €110,000 purchase from the Goffs Orby Book 1 Yearling Sale for Chantilly Bloodstock and was bred by Coolmore. She is the best of three winners from Group I winning Galileo mare Curvy, a half-sister to Group I winning sire Power and Group II winner Thakafaat.

Angeal is the 45th stakes-winner for Wootton Bassett, who is due back in Australia this spring.
