Group Two Winner for Holy Roman
Holy Roman Emperor posted his second Southern Hemisphere stakes-winner when Rollout the Carpet (2f Holy Roman Emperor x Out of Egypt, by Red Ransom) captured the Group II Matamata Breeders Stakes in New Zealand on Saturday.
The Jeff McVean trained filly has improved at every start she’s had and came into this tougher assignment off an easy win at Te Rapa.
Facing up to Black Type company for the first time, Rollout the Carpet rose to the challenge, powering clear to win the 1200 metre dash by a length and a half, her overall record two wins and a second from four starts.
Passed in shy of her reserve at the 2011 NZB Select Yearling Sale, Rollout the Carpet was retained to race and is the first stakes-winner for Out of Egypt (USA), a sister to US Group II winner Wandering Star.
Out of Egypt has been a regular visitor to Coolmore sires and has a yearling filly by Tale of the Cat, a filly foal by Henrythenavigator and was covered last spring by Starspangledbanner.
Rollout the Carpet is the 11th stakes-winner worldwide for Holy Roman Emperor
