Howgoodareyou Wins Again!
Well named So You Think mare Howgoodareyou (4m So You Think x Ana Royale, by Anacheeva) has been making swift progress through her grades and took another step forward when leading all the way to win the Benchmark 78 event over 1800m.
Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Howgoodareyou was a last start winner over the same course and distance last month and repeated the dose under a well rated ride from Rachel King to score by half a length.
"She's going really well, she just keeps stepping up this filly," King said.
"She's getting better and better in everything she does. She used to be a little bit immature and get a bit hot beforehand and in the gates, but today she was the best I've ever felt her especially pre-race."
Howgoodareyou broke maiden on debut at Hawkesbury in July and her overall record is now four wins and a second from five starts with prizemoney in excess of $268,000.
"Just not sure how far we can continue to go this preparation, obviously she's been up a while," Adrian Bott said.
"She paraded well and looks great and is racing well so we'll take her as far as we can, take it one step at a time."
A $300,000 Inglis Easter purchase for G Waterhouse / A Bott / Kestrel Thoroughbreds from the Kitchwin Hills draft, Howgoodareyou has a big ownership group headed by Bangaloe Stud’s Julia Ritchie.
She is the first winner for Group III winning Anacheeva mare Ana Royale, who traces back to Group II winning blue hen Twiglet, the dam of Group I winners Fairy King Prawn, Easy Rocking and the dam of dual Group I winner Cosmic Endeavour.
Howgoodareyou looks a potential new stakes-winner for So You Think, who sired 131 winners of $18.9 million last season including 11 stakes-winners highlighted by two Group I winning sprinters in Think About It and Palaisipan.
He stands this spring at a fee of $99,000.
