Impressive New Stakes-Winner for Pride Of Dubai
Pride of Dubai is making his presence felt with his first European runners this year adding a new stakes-winner to his tally in the UK where Fancy Man (2c Pride Of Dubai x Fancy, by Galileo) captured the Listed Ascendant Stakes (1600m) at Haydock.
Trained by Richard Hannon and ridden by Ryan Moore, Fancy Man powered clear of his rivals to win by more than three lengths in a dominant display at his third start.
Bought for just €30,000 at the Goffs Orby Sale last year, Fancy Man has two wins and a second from his three starts and winning rider Ryan Moore believes there is much more to come from the talented colt.
“Fancy Man is a proper horse and I like him an awful lot. He's a big, strong horse out of a Galileo mare,” Ryan Moore said.
Fancy Man is the best of two winners from unraced Galileo mare Fancy, a daughter of stakes-winning Danehill Dancer mare Danehill Music.
He has an interesting pedigree carrying double crosses of Danehill and also Sadler’s Wells.
Fancy Man is the fourth stakes-winner for Pride of Dubai worldwide joining Star of Emaraaty, Bella Nipotina and Tanker, the latter two being Australian stakes-winners.
The Champion Australian First Crop Sire last season, Pride of Dubai stands this spring at a fee of $38,500.
