Laganore scores in G3 for Fastnet

Newtown Anner Stud’s home-bred Laganore (5m Fastnet Rock-Lady Bones, by Royal Applause) looked better than ever on Saturday when winning the G3 Denny Cordell Lavarack & Lanwades Stud Fillies Stakes at Gowran Park. Colin Keane was aboard the Fastnet Rock mare as they hit the front in the final half furlong to win by two lengths.

Laganore scored in Listed company last season and trainer Tony Martin felt she relished the softer underfoot conditions.

“Laganore has been promising to do that for an age. She loved the ground. This was important, we've been waiting for this all year and it was important to get it. I don't know what else there is for her this season, we'll see,” said Martin.
