Magic Millions 2YO Classic Next for Fasnet Rock Colt
The Listed BRC Phelan Ready Stakes at Doomben on Wednesday provided promising colt Rathlin (2c Fastnet Rock x Wiener, by More Than Ready) with a ticket into the Magic Millions 2YO Classic when he strode clear for an easy victory.
Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Rathlin was a last start second in the Magic Millions Clockwise Classic at Ballarat and showed good improvement from that outing to score a three length win in the 1110 metre dash.
A $725,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Kitchwin Hills draft for Aquis Farm, Rathlin has now won over $121,000 in prizemoney securing his place in the field for the $2million Magic Millions 2YO Classic next month.
A three-quarter brother-in-blood to Group III winner and sire Hinchinbrook, Rathlin is the eighth winner from eight to race from Wiener, but is the first stakes-winner from the half-sister by More Than Ready to Group I winner and champion sire Snitzel.
Rathlin is the 154th stakes-winner for champion sire Fastnet Rock, who has 28 entries for Magic Millions 2020.
