Merchant Navy Yearlings to Shine at Inglis Easter
Back in 2016 at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, a well bred Fastnet Rock colt caught the eye of champion trainer Ciaron Maher.
He bid $350,000 to secure the powerhouse bay and racing as Merchant Navy, he would go on to achieve fame and fortune winning the Group I VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes and the Group I Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.
The first yearlings by Merchant Navy have impressed at sales this year, but there is no doubting the cream of the crop have come to Riverside Stables for the 2021 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale next week.
The Merchant Navy yearlings are presented by a wide range of vendors and include: a three-quarter brother to Group I New Zealand Derby winner Sherwood Forest; a half-sister to $3million earning Group II winner Away Game; a colt from stakes-winner Shigeru Sendan; a colt from Group II winner Jeu de Cartes; a filly from US stakes-winner Fastongrass (USA); a half0brother to Group II winner Derryn; and a half-brother to Group III winner Najoom.
