After two sessions of the Magic Millions Yearling Sale, Merchant Navy has had seven yearlings average $272,143 with his best result on Wednesday a colt from Dee Nine Elle that made $400,000.

Consigned by Bhima Thoroughbreds, the colt was bought by Black Soil Bloodstock/John Foote Bloodstock/Gollan Racing and is the first foal of stakes-placed Dee Nine Elle, a half-sister by Duporth to Everest hero and record breaking champion sprinter Yes Yes Yes.

Bred by Glentree Thoroughbreds, the colt comes from a prolific family of sprinters that also includes dual Group I winner and $3.7million earner In Her Time.

Merchant Navy also had colts from Face of the Earth and Epitomise that sold for $180,000 and $170,000 bought by Laming Racing and Mick Price Racing.
