New Australian Stakes-Winner for Holy Roman
Talented gelding Time to Plunder (6g Holy Roman Emperor x Celtic Class, by Spectrum) posted his first stakes win when taking out the Listed BRC Keith Noud Handicap at Doomben on Saturday.
Prepared by Liam Birchley, Time to Plunder was second in a nice race at Flemington on Oaks Day and bounced back from his trip away to take the 1200 metre sprint by a short half head in a thrilling finish.
Birchley is the third trainer for Time to Plunder, who has the overall record of eight wins and seven placings from 30 starts with prizemoney just shy of $300,000.
Initially passed in at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and later sold, Time to Plunder is the best of three winners from Celtic Class, a half-sister by Spectrum (IRE) to Group II winner Gypsy Rogue and stakes-winner Voguessa from the family of multiple Group I winner Vo Rogue.
Time to Plunder is the 45th stakes-winner worldwide for Holy Roman Emperor, who shuttled to Coolmore Australia for four seasons and is still on the roster in Ireland.
