New Stakes-Winner for Fastnet Rock
The magical Fastnet Rock x Galileo cross produced another new stakes-winner at Morphettville on Monday when talented Irish bred import Mantastic (5g Fastnet Rock x Foreign Legionary, by Galileo) took out the Listed SAJC CS Hayes Memorial Cup.
Previously trained by Darren Weir, Mantastic was having his second start for new trainer Chris Waller and scored a tenacious half head win in the 1600 metre feature.
Mantastic runs in the OTI Racing colours and has the overall record of three wins and six placings from 11 starts with the promise of more to come.
He is the first winner for Foreign Legionary, a half-sister by Galileo to multiple Group I winner Alexander Goldrun and Group III winner Medecis.
Mantastic is the 144th stakes-winner for Fastnet Rock and is the 17th bred from a daughter of Galileo, seven of them Group I winners.
The cross has produced 79.7% winners to runners and 26.5% stakes-winners to runners.
