Oaks Dream for Fastnet Filly

Promising filly Dynastic Lady (2f Fastnet Rock  x Dragon's Tail, by Galileo) cast off maiden status with a determined win at Warwick Farm on Wednesday. Sporting the yellow and white colours of owner/breeder Sir Owen Glenn, made famous by his $7million earner Criterion, the Gai Waterhouse trained Dynastic Lady turned in a promising effort to score at her third start. Stepped up to 1600 metres, Dynastic Lady was more quietly ridden this time by Sam Clipperton and with the blinkers off was able to settle and find her rhythm. She shadowed the leader Magicalease all the way up the straight and got her head in front right on the line where it counted. "Gai has always had a bit of time for her,” stable representative Neil Paine said. "Each run she’s strengthened up and got better and better. "She showed fight over the last furlong, she just kept giving and giving. "She’s going to improve as she gets over a bit of distance and Gai thinks she could be an Oaks filly.” A $240,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Paul Moroney Bloodstock from the Willow Park Stud draft, Dynastic Lady is certainly bred to be an Oaks filly! Foaled and raised at Coolmore, she is the first winner for Dragon’s Tail, an unraced Galileo mare from the family of Group I winner and Champion Miler Look to the Stars. Dragon’s Tail is married to Fastnet Rock having been to the champion stallion in each of her six seasons at stud so far and her current yearling, a colt, made $400,000 at Inglis Easter this year when snapped up by David Ellis.
