Pride of Dubai Keeps the Stakes-Winners Coming!
The incredible run of success enjoyed by Pride Of Dubai shows no signs of slowing down, with his quality mare Hypothetical (5m Pride of Dubai x Fitna, by Fastnet Rock) joining the party with a dominant performance in the Listed MRC Neds Village Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on Saturday.
Ridden by Michael Dee for Anthony and Sam Freedman, Hypothetical led for home and was not for catching going on to win by a couple of lengths.
Few deserved a stakes success more than Hypothetical, who has placed in five stakes races and she takes her overall record to six wins, four seconds, and three thirds from 16 starts with earnings of $445,750.
“She’ll be off to stud next season, but I think we can raise the bar now,” said Sam Freedman.
“I watched Michael’s mare (Queen Of The Ball) work on Tuesday and she had us covered so we decided to go to this race.
“She’s a mare that’s got a high cruising speed. You don’t want to go too slow on her and you need to keep her work up.
“She can win a race from the 800 and be out on her feet. I think we’ve ridden her a bit cute on occasions and Mick Dee going well makes a big difference.”
Hypothetical will now head for a well earned break with Group I goals possible in 2024.
“We could look at a race like the Sangster and run in the first three or something like that. She’s got a great pedigree and now with a nice CV on the track. She’ll be a lovely broodmare,” Freedman added.
A $310,000 purchase for Mitchell Bloodstock (FBAA) from the Segenhoe Stud draft at the 2020 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, Hypothetical was bred by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum and is a half-sister to stakes-placed winner Avenue of Pleasure out of the Fastnet Rock mare Fitna, a daughter of the Group I ATC Champagne Stakes winner Carry On Cutie.
Hypothetical is the 21st stakes-winner for Pride of Dubai and is his fourth in Australia this season.
