Too Big (So You Think) wins at Seymour

Promising Debut Winner for So You Think

Anthony and Sam Freedman produced an interesting debut winner at Seymour on Thursday with Too Big (3g So You Think x Garden of Eden, by Blackfriars) saluting as a short priced favourite.

One of only two three year-olds in the 1400m maiden, Too Big worked forward to lead for Ethan Brown and despite looking all at sea at times, he proved too good at the post scoring by nearly a length.

A $160,000 Inglis Great Southern Weanling Sale purchase for Paul Willetts Bloodstock from the Rushton Park draft, he is a half-brother to Group II placed Akkadian and is the sixth winner from six to race from terrific producer Garden of Eden, an unraced half-sister by Blackfriars to multiple Group III winner Grand Nirvana from Group III winner Paradise Park.

Very much a work in progress, Too Big looks a promising type from the current big crop of So You Think three year-olds, who are largely untapped at this stage with only 19 runners from 162 foals.

So You Think has finished second on the Australian General Sires List for the past two years running but has some serious firepower this season with his Everest contender Think About It and the return of his flagship weight-for-age horse Think It Over following a tendon injury.

$6.1million earner Think It Over has not raced since winning the Group I ATC Queen Elizabeth Stakes last year and has accepted for the Group I ATC Winx Stakes on Saturday.
