Promising Gleneagles Filly Gets Off The Mark

Fibonacci Sequence (3f Gleneagles – Elltaaf, by Invincible Spirit) built on last month’s promising debut to justify favouritism in the fillies’ novice stakes at Chelmsford on Thursday evening.

The George Scott-trained filly encountered traffic problems when finishing fourth behind two previous winners last month, but enjoyed a clear run as she stepped up to a mile. Racing in touch under Callum Shepherd, she was asked to quicken three furlongs from home and ran on well to lead inside the final 110 yards. She kept on to score by half a length, with another length and three quarters back to the third.

Bred by Frank Fahy, Fibonacci Sequence is owned by K Breen and partner.
