Fastnet Rock Colt Out Of Pride

Regally Bred Fastnet Rock Colt Lights Up Tattersalls

Thursday saw a son of Fastnet Rock light up the Tattersalls sales ring when selling to Aquis Farm for 725,000gns.

Offered by James Hanly’s Ballyhimikin Stud on behalf of breeder Sven Hanson, the bay colt was predicted to prove popular, given that he is a full-brother to the top-class One Foot In Heaven (Fastnet Rock). Their dam Pride was a champion older mare on two occassions and is now 19 years of age.

Gleneagles was another who enjoyed a significant sales result when Clare Castle Stud sold their half-sister to dual Stakes winner Ladys First for 400,000gns. Blandford Bloodstock were the successful buyers of the April-born bay, who is closely related to the progressive Astronomer (Galileo).

Having enjoyed a 400,000gns sale on Tuesday and a Group 1 winner on Sunday, Zoffany had further reason to celebrate when Lot 486 sold to Liz Crow and BSW Euro Venture for 270,000gns. Offered by Glenvale Stud, the bay filly is the first foal out of Pandora’s Box (Galileo), and unraced full-sister to Group 1 performer Robin Hood.
