Return to Form for Churchill Stayer

Interesting stakes race on the all weather track at Newcastle in the UK on Saturday with multiple Group I winner Dubai Honour sent out favoruite, but beaten comprehensively by The Foxes (4h Churchill x Tanaghum, by Darshaan) in the Listed Bet UK Churchill Stakes (1m2f).

Trained by Andrew Balding, The Foxes was a Group winner at two and three, but has only had three starts earlier this year the last of them in April when he finished last in a Group race at Newmarket.

He found his best form here, although had a big pull in the weights over Dubai Honour, who was also held up badly in running, and scored by three lengths

Bought for 440,000 guineas at Tattersalls October Book Yearling Sale by Sackville Donald, The Foxes has won four of 14 starts and is a full brother to staying stakes-winner Perotan.

Bred by Barronstown Stud, he is the sixth stakes-winner among 11 winners from blue hen Tanaghum, whose other stakes-winning offspring are Group I winner Matterhorn, Group II winner Bangkok, Group III winner Tactic and stakes-winner Yaazy.

The Foxes is one of 28 stakes-winners for Churchill, who is in Australia this spring at a fee of $19,800.
