Royally Bred Fastnet on the Rise
Having his third run for new trainer Darren Weir, royally bred gelding Try Four (4g Fastnet Rock x Allow, by Rahy) gave his rivals a galloping lesson at Morphettville on Saturday.
A comfortable winner last start at Warrnambool, Try Four was sent out a very short priced favourite in the Benchmark 82 event over 2035 metres and did not disappoint.
He settled just off the pace and motored clear in the straight to win by four lengths and is clearly in for a great preparation.
A consistent performer for well-known owner/breeders Graham and Linda Huddy, Try Four has won six races and placed seven times from 20 starts earning $109,000 in prizemoney.
A $400,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Newhaven draft in 2012, Try Four was also bred by Newhaven and is from Group I Queensland Oaks winner Allow, so is bred to appreciate a journey and is improving with maturity.
