Rubick Busiest Sire in Australia for 2019
For the second year in a row our young gun sire Rubick has been the busiest sire in Australia according to figures compiled by the Australian Studbook.
A brilliantly fast son of our former champion sire Encosta de Lago, Rubick was the busiest sire in 2018 covering 263 mares and covered only one less in 2019 at the increased fee of $38,500.
Rubick is the leading Australian second crop sire by earnings with a long list of winners headed by course record breaking Everest winner Yes Yes Yes, who will join his sire at Coolmore this spring, and high class Group II winning filly Rubisaki.
Coolmore provided three of the top five busiest sires with So You Think (234 mares) and Pierro (217) also finding favour with broodmare owners.
This Danehill free dynamic duo have delivered 15 Australian stakes-winners between them this season and Pierro is the current leader on the Australian General Sires List with seasonal progeny earnings topping $12million.
Leading the Australian first season sires list by earnings and winners, Pride of Dubai was also popular covering 176 mares with many breeders last spring obviously anticipating his early success.
